On 10 April 2025, a specialist on the documentation of cases of torture and ill-treatment conducted an information session in cities and districts of the Khatlon region. The meeting was held with lawyers, legal professionals, and representatives of civil society, during which information was presented on the activities of the Legal Aid Group of the Coalition of Civil Society against Torture and Impunity in Tajikistan.

The specialist also informed participants about the project “Path to Justice: Strengthening Human Rights through Torture Prevention and Penitentiary System Reform”, funded by the European Union, and expressed interest in further cooperation.

Informational activities were conducted across several cities and districts of the Khatlon region, including Khuroson, A. Jomi, Levakant, Bokhtar, Kubodiyon, Shahrituz, Nurek, Danghara, Baljuvon, Khovaling, and Kulob, where meetings and discussions were held with lawyers from the respective areas.

During the meetings, participants were provided with the publication “Legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan on Torture and Other Forms of Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment,” informational leaflets on the activities of the Legal Aid Group, as well as pens and notebooks.

More than 15 lawyers from the above-mentioned cities and districts took part in the event, sharing their views and engaging in substantive discussions on further cooperation.
