LAUNCH OF A NEW PROJECT

Starting from May 1, 2025, a two-year project entitled “Enhancing Civil Society and the State’s Capacities on Accountability and Torture Prevention through Human Rights Initiatives in Tajikistan” has been launched in Tajikistan with the financial support of the European Union.

The initiative aims to contribute to promoting accountability, protecting human rights, and preventing torture in Tajikistan.

To achieve this, the project will focus on:
• strengthening the capacity of monitoring and evaluation staff within relevant state and civil society institutions;
• increasing the participation of civil society in human rights processes;
• supporting reforms in the country’s penitentiary system.

The project represents another important step toward strengthening cooperation between state institutions and civil society to ensure compliance with international human rights standards.

The project is implemented by three partner organizations: the Public Organization “Zerkalo,” the Public Organization “World of Law,” and the Dutch foundation “Perspectivity Challenge.”
