A three-day webinar for judges on the topic “Prohibition of Torture: International Standards and Judicial Practice” has been concluded in Dushanbe.
Particular attention was given to the application of the provisions of the United Nations Convention against Torture, as well as to international and national judicial practice, standards for evaluating evidence in torture cases, ensuring effective investigations of such crimes, and the role of the judiciary in preventing human rights violations.
During the webinar, participants analyzed practical case studies, exchanged professional experience, and discussed current challenges related to ensuring effective judicial protection against torture and other forms of cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment.
